Cyber Crime Social Media Account Data Hacking in Indonesia

Abstract


Introduction: Legal regulations and sanctions against perpetrators of social media account data hacking. Data hacking is one of the criminal acts of cybercrime (cyber crime).

Purposes of the Research: To find out and analyze the legal arrangements regarding hacking and criminal acts against social media account data hacking in Indonesia and the liability for criminal sanctions against perpetrators of social media account data hacking.

Methods of the Research: Normative legal research, researchers use a statutory approach, and a case approach.

Findings of the Research: The results of this study show that, what are the legal arrangements that discuss the formulation of the problem and what are the criminal sanctions against the perpetrators of hacking. The results of this study show that Article 30 of the Electronic Information and Transaction Law regulates the criminal acts of hacking and criminal sanctions received by the defendant from the results of the discussed decision, namely Article 30 Paragraph 2 Jo. Article 46 Paragraph 2 of Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions.
