About the Journal

Jurnal Saniri is a peer-reviewed legal journal published by the Faculty of Law, Universitas Pattimura, Indonesia. The journal provides an international scholarly forum for academics, researchers, legal practitioners, policymakers, and other scholars to publish original and substantive research in the fields of Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, Public Law, and Governance.

The journal welcomes original scholarly contributions from authors from all countries and legal traditions. Jurnal Saniri encourages doctrinal, theoretical, empirical, socio-legal, comparative, and interdisciplinary research addressing contemporary constitutional, administrative, institutional, regulatory, and governance issues at national, regional, and international levels.

Jurnal Saniri has a particular scholarly interest in the constitutional and administrative dimensions of island and archipelagic societies. This distinctive perspective includes, but is not limited to, legal and governance challenges arising from geographical fragmentation, decentralization, regional autonomy, island and coastal governance, public service delivery across geographically dispersed territories, environmental and natural-resource governance, and other public-law issues affecting island and archipelagic communities.

The journal does not restrict submissions to studies concerning Indonesia or any particular geographical region. Research focusing on a single jurisdiction is welcome where it demonstrates broader theoretical, comparative, institutional, legal, or international relevance. Comparative and cross-jurisdictional studies are particularly encouraged where they contribute to a deeper understanding of constitutionalism, administrative law, public governance, and related areas of legal scholarship.

Jurnal Saniri is committed to maintaining rigorous editorial standards, transparent editorial processes, responsible peer review, publication ethics, and editorial independence. The journal applies a double-anonymous peer-review process, and editorial decisions are based on scholarly merit, originality, relevance to the journal's Focus and Scope, analytical or methodological quality, ethical compliance, peer-review assessments, and contribution to legal scholarship.

The journal provides immediate open access to its published content in accordance with its Open Access Policy. By making scholarly research freely accessible, Jurnal Saniri seeks to support wider dissemination, international scholarly communication, knowledge exchange, and the advancement of legal scholarship.

Jurnal Saniri is published twice a year, in May and November. Each volume consists of two regular issues. The journal is committed to maintaining a consistent publication schedule and ensuring that accepted articles proceed through the editorial, peer-review, revision, and production processes in accordance with the journal's policies.

The journal is owned, managed, and published by the Faculty of Law, Universitas Pattimura. The Faculty provides institutional support for the operation, sustainability, and development of the journal, while editorial decisions are made independently by the editorial team based on scholarly and ethical considerations.

National Accreditation

Jurnal Saniri has been nationally accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia under Decree Number 862/DST/D.D1/HM.01.01/2026 with a SINTA 4 accreditation status, valid from Volume 4 No. 1, 2023 through Volume 8 No. 2, 2027.
