Focus

TATOHI: Jurnal Ilmu Hukum is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal published by the Faculty of Law, Universitas Pattimura, Indonesia. The journal publishes original research articles that contribute to the development of legal scholarship through critical analysis of legal norms, legislation, judicial decisions, law enforcement, legal institutions, and contemporary legal issues. It aims to promote rigorous legal inquiry into the interpretation, implementation, and reform of law and its relationship with society.

The journal welcomes normative, doctrinal, empirical, socio-legal, comparative, and interdisciplinary legal research addressing issues at national, regional, and international levels. TATOHI encourages studies that offer original findings, sound legal reasoning, and meaningful contributions to legal theory, legal practice, public governance, and the protection of rights.

Scope

TATOHI covers a broad range of legal disciplines, including but not limited to the following areas:

1. Civil Law and Business Law: Contract law, obligations, property and land rights, family and inheritance law, commercial transactions, consumer protection, intellectual property, corporate regulation, and civil dispute resolution.

2. Criminal Law and Criminal Justice: Substantive and procedural criminal law, criminal responsibility, criminal policy, criminology, investigation and prosecution, judicial decisions, sentencing, restorative justice, and the protection of victims and defendants.

3. Constitutional Law and Administrative Law: Constitutional governance, state institutions, elections, regional government, public administration, administrative decisions, government accountability, public services, and the enforcement of administrative law.

4. International Law: Public and private international law, international human rights law, international humanitarian law, international criminal law, international treaties, maritime law, and international dispute settlement.

5. Customary Law and Agrarian Law: Customary legal institutions, indigenous and customary law communities, customary land rights, land disputes, legal pluralism, recognition of traditional rights, and the interaction between customary law and state law.

6. Environmental and Natural Resources Law: Environmental protection, marine and coastal governance, mining, forestry, natural resource management, conservation, environmental responsibility, and the legal dimensions of sustainable development.

7. Human Rights and Legal Protection: Fundamental rights, access to justice, protection of children and vulnerable groups, labour rights, consumer rights, victims' rights, equality before the law, and legal remedies against unlawful acts.

8. Legal Theory and Contemporary Legal Issues: Jurisprudence, legal philosophy, legal reform, legal institutions, law and society, digital law, cybercrime, electronic transactions, data protection, artificial intelligence and law, and other emerging legal challenges.

The journal welcomes research that critically examines legal problems and provides well-supported conclusions or recommendations for the development of law and legal practice. Manuscripts must have a clear legal focus and demonstrate a substantive contribution to legal scholarship. TATOHI accepts manuscripts written in Indonesian or English, subject to editorial screening and peer review in accordance with the journal's publication policies.
